GEHA Provides Federal Employees with Nationwide Access to Top-Ranked Surgeons Through BridgeHealth Centers of Excellence

Elevate and Elevate Plus Plans give federal employees access to BridgeHealth’s high-touch care coordination

DENVER, Colo. — On January 1, 2020, GEHA, Inc. (Government Employees Health Association) began offering eligible members access to BridgeHealth’s centers of excellence and care coordinators to prepare members for planned surgeries like knee replacements, heart surgery, and bariatric surgery through one of its two new innovative benefit plans – Elevate and Elevate Plus.

GEHA, which offers one of the largest national medical and dental plans serving federal employees, was selected by the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) as the exclusive carrier for these two new FEHB (Federal Employee Health Benefit) plans. GEHA chose BridgeHealth, an industry-leading provider of surgical centers of excellence (COE) programs, as a partner in delivering high-quality and convenient care to eligible federal employees and retirees who choose the Elevate or Elevate Plus plan.

“Our goal was to design innovative, new plans that created new opportunities for us to help members achieve better health, while being guided through the process,” said Darren Taylor, GEHA president and CEO. “With BridgeHealth, members will have access to a dedicated care coordinator who will work with them and their family members every step of the way to plan and manage the surgery process.”

BridgeHealth provides organizations like GEHA with value-based care programs designed to support their members and their dependents when they need it most – making planned surgery with the top surgeons and facilities in the country more affordable, easier to navigate, and a more positive healthcare experience with better outcomes.

“We are pleased to partner with GEHA,” said Jamie Hall, president at BridgeHealth. “Our program delivers hard-dollar savings and improved health outcomes for our members. More importantly, we’re supporting individuals and their dependents at what is often a costly and difficult time. Members who come through our program routinely tell us how much they appreciated our help and support. We look forward to delivering this level of care and support to GEHA’s Elevate and Elevate Plus plan members.”
